Interactive experiences designed to entertain and capture the viewer’s attention, from animated visuals and sound to fully custom game mechanics. Each segment of this project blends 3D modeling, animation, sound design, and programming to create something that feels alive and unique with every use, built to surprise, engage, and hold attention through a fully realized sensory experience.
This interactive fortune-telling piece involved a complex scope of content creation across visual, audio, and technical disciplines. The candle at the center of the booth was animated through four distinct states, an idle flicker, a rising transition, a sustained high flame, and a reduction back to normal, paired with corresponding ambient lighting fluctuations within the booth to reflect the candle’s shifting intensity. A hidden bone-rig animation was built into the booth’s structure, triggering a subtle shake the moment a user begins generating their fortune. Atop the booth, a fully modeled and animated tiki figure was developed from concept through final asset, featuring four distinct face designs, each paired with its own custom particle effect, ensuring visual variation across sessions.
The background environment was divided into four independently animating quadrants, each running its own randomized sequence of glimmering stars, so no two instances of the experience appear the same. Original illustration work was also produced for the fortune card itself, the closing visual element upon which each fortune is displayed. Sound design and audio integration were built throughout the experience as well, with effects and scoring programmed to respond in tandem with the visual sequences, reinforcing the atmosphere at each stage of the interaction rather than sitting apart from it.
On the technical side, fortunes are pulled dynamically from a backend database as part of a fully randomized selection system, and a built-in sharing function allows users to email their results to themselves or others directly from the experience. Every user interaction was choreographed through custom-programmed animation sequences, resulting in a self-contained interactive attraction where artistry and engineering work in tandem, from first interaction to final fortune.
